Martin Luther King School
The Martin Luther King School serves a poor community in Managua. This neighborhood is plagued by poverty, gang activity, drug use and urban violence. The dedicated, underpaid staff must work without enough basic supplies, and often at risk to their lives,
to give their young charges an education. At MLK School, they believe the only way out of poverty is education.
Over the years ProNica has provided funds for three classrooms, an office/library for books, water storage tanks for restrooms, and computers for the school lab. Sadly, these computers were stolen by gun-wielding thieves who climbed over the wall.
