Ramón Sepúlveda & Ada López

We are indebted to Ada López & Ramón Sepúlveda for leadership that is clearly rooted in lived experience with peace work, solidarity, environmental justice and human rights.

For the past year they have had front row seats to the operations and programs in Nicaragua. After much analysis and deep listening, they have proposed restructuring measures with a focus on the health and sustainability of this mission-driven work. We’ve begun some implementation, and further review and discernment will take place in the coming weeks and months.

Some of the initial changes are in regards to their own roles with ProNica.  Through Ada’s vast experience with gender equity, violence prevention, conflict resolution and participatory education, her work with ProNica will shift more toward partner accompaniment.  Ramón will apply his analytical, managerial and cross-cultural skills as an independent contractor, offering consulting and delegations services to ProNica.

After these initial restructuring changes, we will follow Ramón and Ada’s advice to hire a new Program Director to be based full time in Managua.

We’re grateful for their strategic insights and participatory methods, and we look forward to long relationships with both of them as the ProNica family grows and changes in exciting new ways!
